fenced off

We have the plot all fenced off now, so once the Building Warrant comes through, we can order the timber kit, and the builder can get started on the founds and prep work.

We are building a house. Well no, we are getting someone to build us a house. I've organised stuff, but because I want it done well, we are paying someone else to build it. These two drawings (google sketchup) show what we are up to.

We've had a timber kit company do the house drawings and I've done the site specific ones. Wasn't too hard......

The house is a timber kit, clad in concrete blockwork, with wet dash finish. The roof will be finished in natural slate, and the plot is roughly half an acre.

It will be built to current Scottish Building Standards, so it will be cosy and energy efficient, although we are having an oil boiler, it will be external, so that when the global meltdown of fuel supply comes, we can replace the unit with something else....nooclear maybe...
